Re: Clinics by the Strand
So you are thinking about taking up kayak angling? Kayak angling is not a sport for the faint hearted. Often the search for the “big one” means you will find yourself pushing your limits and found fishing in unfamiliar waters or in conditions that are not ideal. An unprepared, inexperienced individual can easily become another statistic.
Kayakfish.co.za now offers training clinics to both interested parties as well as new comers to the sport.
* By attending the clinic you will learn about choosing the correct kayak for you
* Recommended Safety requirements and how to use them
* Correct techniques to use whilst out on the water
* Paddling
* Rigging your kayak
* Anchoring
* Launching
* Beaching
* Re-entry
* Fish landing and handling.
* Fishing Tackle
* Fishing traces and rigs
* Reading/understanding Weather conditions.
* What to do when things go wrong.
* We will provide various models of kayaks for display and demonstration purposes. Should you already own a kayak, please feel free to bring your own one along so that you can become more acquainted with it.
* We look forward to hosting you and preparing you for the big day.
[b]Cost are as follows:
Hiring of state of the art Kayak / Rod / tackle / lifejacket / paddle / Bait = R600. if you have all your own suitable kayak and tackle there is no charge.
Guide/training = R300/hr 3 hours min to get most out of session

Thanks! I really enjoyed myself yesterday. There are no words to describe my experience as it was loads of fun.
We will definitely hit the waves again but with my own kayak next time!
