Re: Anchor System help needed please
Speak to Bulky. (Rudolph) or Quiet Storm (Greg) They have in-genius pulley systems.
For a more simple system, use a length of Bungee cord (approx. 5m) with a carabiner clip at each end. Connect the one end (End# 1) to a fixed point on the kayak. (within reach if you are seated in the kayak. eg Foot Pedal or strap) The other end you thread through the front handle (under) and clip back to your original point. (End# 2) (over the handle on the return)
When anchouring, you lower your anchor and once "vas" you let out another 2-3meters rope. In the anchor rope you make a loop and clip the one end (End 2) of the bungee carabiner on to the loop. This will then allow your anchor rope to proceed to the front of the kayak but will still be fixed to the kayak within reach of the paddler at End 1. By doing so your kayak will face into the current and will allow you to make a quick release (by releasing the clip at End 1) should you land up in trouble.
the excess rope you can store in a foot well or back in the hatch. (Let out some slack to help take the swell). When you want to up anchor, you just pull on the excess rope, which will bring the bungee attachment to you. Unclip, wind in and you are on your way.
Hope this helps...
Give me a shout if you need more info.

Re: Anchor System help needed please
Great system if you dont mind loose bits and extra cord around your vessel (my feeling is it opens you up to get hooks in etc when wind and swell gets challenging and also when climbing back into your Yak after capsize (life jacket buckles will hook on everything!)
I and quite a few other seasoned kayak fisherman dont find it neccessary to have this pulley system and have never had any issues using the conventional
method.
Just my advice.
Whatever works for you.
